Memorization becomes a problem when you measure progress only by repeated scores. To avoid that, force yourself to interact with each question differently over time. Shuffle mixed sets, explain wrong answers out loud, and occasionally restate the scenario in your own words before looking at options.

Take Harbor Vale Foods, where a staff auditor uses one course for Part 2 and studies about 55 hours over 6 weeks. By week four, practice scores climb from 68 to 84 percent, but the auditor notices the improvement is partly recognition. The fix is to create a second layer of review. For each missed or guessed question, the auditor writes a one-line rule such as tracing supports completeness or supervisors review work before results are issued. The auditor then returns to only those rules 3 days later and answers a fresh mixed set without rereading the textbook first. That separates actual understanding from memory of answer positions.
