After each mock exam, divide flagged questions into three categories. Category A means you knew the concept but wanted to double-check wording. Category B means you understood the topic but confused two answer choices. Category C means the concept was unfamiliar. Only Category C is a serious readiness warning.

For example, fictional audit candidate Devon scores 78 percent on a mixed set but flags 38 of 100 questions. When he reviews, 20 are Category A, 12 are Category B, and 6 are Category C. That profile is not perfect, but it is manageable. He spends the next week drilling the six unknown topics and writing one-sentence rules for the Category B mistakes.

Do not use confidence as your only measure. Some candidates feel terrible and pass because their reasoning is sound. Others feel confident because they have memorized familiar wording.
